Any Internet Marketers in here?

Hello,

Since it's hard to find a job for non-Finnish speakers, I am wondering how many of you have tried with Internet Marketing? I have done it for a short while now. It's obviously not a rocket science but it's possible to get a certain income level (better than nothing compared to being unemployed)

So I am thinking it would be nice to gather Internet marketers in Finland to exchange thoughts, ideas and experiences!

Can you be a little bit more specific.

What do you mean when you are talking about internet marketers... what kind of activity are you referring to
especially if you refer to non-finnish speaking marketers

Off the top of my head just come to mind the design of banners to be posted on the internet.. or the creation of Facebook pages
related to some kind of service.

It can be anything that falls into that range. Well, let's say Affiliate Marketers which seem to be the most popular and "easiest" things to start with. Or you have a blog that generates a lot of traffic and you can sell advertisement spot. Or you make niche market sites or whatever related to that.

Facebook or Twitter are also able to make money if you have numerous targeted followers.

It's a very broad subject, though.

To be totally honest, the way it is put seems a bit simplistic, even though there is a point in trying to develop it as a working business idea.

I try to expand my line of thinking. What you say in the original post is rather generic in the sense that while facebook pages, banners, twitter accounts, blogs and so on can generate online traffic toward products there is the need to have an underlying business model that keeps things together and connect the dots as those things per se do not create income in a vacuum.

What could be interesting possibly is to assemble a bunch of people with different skills, background and education to form a pool of "consultants" in order to create web contents on demand for existing firms and businesses, such team could and should include people as different as :

(1) Web designers : html/xml/javascript programmers... and other IT-savy people
(2) Strategists : people with a background in marketing strategy and communications
(3) Visual artists : people with a creative artistic background
(4) Statistics Analysts : people with a quantitative background for web-analysis and data mining

It is not impossible to do. And in fact, with some effort and time a group of same-minded people could create a stump of a consulting company made up of both expats and finns together. It is worth mentioning that , in due time, for the success of any entrepreneurial endeavour from the personal idea to the incubator stage ad so on it is necessary to create enough visibility/buzz and connections so as to attract the first costumers i.e. companies who want to develop a mktg strategy on the internet staying on the cheap side of consulting fees.

I wondered why this thread died off so soon, just found out about it today. I actually have done internet marketing for many years, on and off as I can't do it full time. But it would be great to meet and talk to like-minded people, Finnish speakers or not

hey everyone!!

I am about to start out too! I found a great company to work with! Been talking to the top earners in America! Will have a skype session today too... I know people always think this type of business idea is a scam and a waste of money that you invest but I most definitely don't! I think the Facebook group idea is great! Did anyone set it up yet? I am so excited to meet others who think alike and actually want to do this and may some money in Finland! I have had enough of doing a job I have no passion for and for little money!

Uhm it was not about me being special! It was about me doing my homework and finding people who are successful in the business! And btw 2 months into the business and I am killing it for those who were wondering.. And for the record.. a negative mindset will get you nowhere..Sometimes you have to take a chance..sitting there ,not taking action ,will not help you in life!
