Hi, I have just moved into a new apartment and currently do not have a Finnish social number, which is causing a big problem trying to get the internet installed.
Is there any way of getting broadband into the apartment without a social number? If not, how long does it tend to take to get one?

I had the same problem last year. As an alternative, you can get mobile pre-paid internet, but of course the speed is 1/10th for about the same price. Or you can talk to your landlord/lady about it and ask to get the connection on their name. I don't know anyone who managed to get an Internet broadband contract without a social security (identification ?) number.

I actually use Voip so need to be able to plug my phone into the router. - The landlady did suggest I pay her upfront for the contract, which i'm happy to do but now hasn't replied for 4 days and I'm starting to panic as need to work.
