can i move here from the US just cause?
I am wondering if I, as an american citizen can just up and move to Finland? I have no family or marital ties to the country, I'm just looking for a change and would love to experience Finland! Can anyone give me some facts and advice??

Just like a Mexican citizen who hops over the border into the US won't automatically get a US Green Card, a US citizen who hops into Finland won't automatically get a Finnish Residence Permit.

Yeah you can. Find a Fin in America. Bribe them to marry you, and bring you to Finland..... LOL.
Otherwise, nope. You can come here to study if you get granted a study place and permit for that. Get a job in which the employers says there is no one else in Europe who can do the job. Otherwise you come for a 90 day stay and p*ss off back home.
