Need advise with child custody issues

Post by deldel » Tue Jul 30, 2013 3:31 pm

Hello everyone!
I am new to this site so forgive me if I unknowingly bypass some house rules.
Here is my thing. My wife and I are going through a really hard time. We seem not to agree on anything.
We have a 4 months old son. ( I know You might think it is the stress, the sleep deprivation, the hormone, the new life style stuff but am sure that is not the case.)
Lately, when the issue of separation is in the room she threatens me that I will only be allowed to see my child for a few hours a week until he turns one. I really want to bond with him. I want to have more time him.
Is what she is saying true? I mean, that i might be limited to have a few hours a week with him? If this is true i might have to stick it out for another 8 months. I am not saying we will be separated for sure but I feel I have to prepare myself for everything.

In normal circumstances you get joint custody (taking important decisions together).
Young children stay with their mother and the father gets visiting rights. (unless the mother is really wacko)
The parents decide on the visiting schedule.
If they cannot agree a judge will make a ruling.
Most likely outcome: one weekend every two weeks and every other holiday.
For breast feeding babies the schedule might be adopted for practical reasons.
So a couple of hours every week might indeed be a realistic option.
