NORTH California's got snow. I know you probably aren't familiar with how we in California refer to each other geographically. There is Southern California and Northern California. North California has all the snow and South California has all the celebrities and night clubs. We are united by drugs, mostly cocaine and ecstasy, and the fact that we are both constantly on fire. Though maybe I'm exaggerating because it's dry season... Either way I'm sure North Cal has charred snow if any snow at this time!

How warm does it get in the Summer in Helsinki?

AnnabelleIeve, you talk (or rather post) a lot. Get used to silence if you come here.

I completely forgot about that place.I didn't mean for it to sound like I was talking about it in the last post, I wasn't. It's a few hours away from LA. I've never been there :ohno: Mostly because I'm scared of mountains and large snow hills. But I guess you are right. There is SOME snow in the south... The snow hogs up north have the rest

It's just that in California we refer to each other as north and south not as one whole California.

OK, there you go:

Finnish winter morning, or - 'Why "lets take the car to get somewhere fast" is a Stupid thing to say.'
http://www.nullwave.net/morning.mp4 (takes a bit to load, but it is there all 5 minutes of it)

Also might explain why I HATE SNOW AND WINTER most of the time...

I know Finns aren't very open and social with just anyone. Another reason I like Finland. People won't think I'm rude for being quiet or not acknowledging their existence with a simple "hello" or "lovely day". I wouldn't so much as utter a word unless it was to someone I was familiar or comfortable with. I don't have very good social skills with common people or strangers :ohno:

I meant it as a synonym for regular people. Other people or just strangers. Not commoners. :beamer:

ALSO, I'm not nobility so I'm technically a commoner! :x

You know, I can't help but feel like, when you do finally visit Finland, you're going to be do very, very disappointed. I'm sure that's been brought up somewhere already, I can't be ars*d to reference. This whole thing strikes me one of two ways: you are either just that naive (which I'm not saying as a bad thing), or you are dragging this on for your own entertainment.

At any rate, the air is crisp, sure. The dark is dark, the cold is cold. Beer. Sauna. Sausage. Reindeer. Nomnom. You will no doubt get stared at because I have this feeling your version of quiet is still noisier than Finnish quiet. As I'm sure was mentioned, you might want to tone down your flamboyance. Of all the Finns I know, they've all valued hard work and earning your proverbial keep. More staring.

Back on target, lots of lakes for swimming. Lots of nature for viewing. Lots of options for reading material if such a hobby is fancied. There's always something to do when the weather is nice. Except in winter. Then all there is to do is booze more. And curse that your car won't start because it's too cold. The food is good, much better than in the US, and the eating habits are healthier, which is refreshing to see.

Learn Finnish. Don't turn on red. Get used to mosquitoes and horseflies in the warmer months. Get used to cold and dark all the other time of the year.
Archer, at the ready!
