raw unpasteurized milk from cow goat sheep etc
Hi im from Sweden, i would like to come over and visit and was wondering where would be the best place to go if i want easy access without having a car to buy as much raw unpasteurized milk from cow, sheep and goats??? Preferably it should also be closest possible to Sweden so i is easy to visit. Im not sure if i can find this in any store in Finland or if it is hard to get even there?
Best regards Henrik

So if you can't get it in Sweden what makes you think you can get it in Finland?

They have luomumaito in some posh stores, but what you need is to find a bönde and get tinkimaito. Its illegal to sell with the EU rules, but the bönde never give much heed http://www.tilamaito.info/tilamaitoa-myyvat-maatilat/ I do agree milk straight from the cooling tank does taste quite something different. Straight from the cow its a bit... ummm.. warm
But yeah, you got better farming in Sweden so thats why I ask?

Wrong, it is allowed in the EU.Pursuivant wrote:Its illegal to sell with the EU rules,
But the individual countries are allowed to set restrictions.

Come on now, its "international agreements" and "EU rules" that ban everything and anything sensible in Finland. Unless you milk the cow in a bathtub in an icehouse its illegal... or something....

The regulations on raw milk in Finland are set by the Finnish government, and can be changed by the Finnish government.

I know my ex-in-laws needed to invest a load for a new milk room as well as stop butchering on the farm because of the EU rules. And nothing can be changed by the Finnish government.

The restrictions on production and sale of raw milk in Finland are not set by the EU, they are set by the Finnish government.Pursuivant wrote:I know my ex-in-laws needed to invest a load for a new milk room as well as stop butchering on the farm because of the EU rules.
That's what we are talking about here, I do not deny that other regulations regarding milk production are coming from the EU.
