Need permit help

Hello,

I am currently living in Finland. I applied for work permit a month ago as my previous one expired. Now I am living in Finland on a card which I received from poliisi immigration after applying for extension of permit. However, I recently get a job in UK and want to apply for UK work permit. My question is can I apply for UK work permit with the card / written paper that I have from immigration poliisi?

Does it read "UK" on the card or paper you got from poliisi?
Same answer.
You need to fill in a new paper you get from UK embassy. You can apply at the UK embassy in Finland, as you have a valid residence permit, and don't need to go apply in your original country.

Could you elaborate this? I haven't received any paper from UK embassy. I received contract and sponsorship from UK employer and now want to apply for UK work permit.

You need to get a form. You probably can download it rather than physically going to go get one.

I believe he's concerned that he does not have his passport at present, which is presumably required in order to apply for a UK work permit.

Instead of his passport he has that card he received from immigration poliisi, if I'm quoting him correctly.

Actually, he didn't have a permit anymore. The Finnish authorities consider for most part that "reapplication pending (here)" is as good as having a permit but UK authorities could have a different view.

I do have a passport. Thats not a worry. My worry is mentioned by @Rip.

Well then if you do not have a valid RP you might have to go to your native country for submitting the documents and the interview. The process is the same. Your sponsorship is valid 3 months so shouldn't your RP application be processed in that time?
