THEATRE: An Inspector Calls, by J. B. Priestly

Post by fionna » Thu Apr 22, 2004 10:45 pm

Three weeks til opening night now...

The press release is below but if you are interested in coming along I seriously recommend that you book your tickets now (through the website), as the theatre only seats 50 or so per performance, and tickets are selling quickly.

And say hello if you see me running round the place, cajoling actors out of bathrooms and their temper tantrums etc etc :-)

I'll stick your press release in the BWA (British Womens's Assoc) newsletter if that's OK?
It's good you have a theatre in the town centre this time... even though it is a bit small!

That'd be great, Penelope. When does the newsletter go out? Because seats will become scarce...

About the venue: there is no such thing as the perfect venue, and much discussion about what compromises to make. Personally I prefer to go for smaller and central venues, where the audience is practically on stage - it adds an intensity to the piece that I really enjoy.

Then again, from a technical point of view, if I had any set changes to deal with I'd be cursing the lack of space, and as it is there are some things I'm really not happy with. We make do.

We're now sold out Thursday and Friday! If you haven't got tickets yet but want to get some, the FBP can sell them only for the Sunday matinee, but Ticketti still has some for the Saturday and Sunday evening shows.

And it should go without saying, but in case it doesn't: don't expect to be able to buy tickets at the door unless you've already booked...
