How to get Satellite TV in Finland
How to get Satellite TV in Finland
Ok I have read a lot of past posts and they get a bit confusing. Would someone be willing to spell it out for me how to get Satellite TV. I see most dishes are from Canal. I live in Järvenpää and my current Plus TV Bill is now over 55 euros a month.
Where should I even begin. Can I just call Canal and they will take care of everything. I assume I obviously need a dish, box, and someone to aim the dish... Is this all done by Canal? Can anyone recommend a better company than Canal.
Any and all info is appreciated as I don't have a clue where to begin but I am not going to pay Plus TV anymore for 10 channels. Thanks!!

You dont need a company. Get a dish, get a installer, get needed hardware, get subscriptions.hychamaz wrote: Where should I even begin. Can I just call Canal and they will take care of everything. Its about what you need/want.
Call http://huoltokoponen.com/ and tell them what channels you want, i would recommend email tho because its easier to process with time and you get more precise stuff.
I know this firm, they have done satellite installations atleast since 1997 (years before that but that i dont know before that for sure) and i know they do installations atleast in southern finland, they are located in heinola.

And I cant call that company as reccomended as I dont know what channels I want. I want a package offer for an English speaker. I seetons of dishes everywhere again usually with Canal written on them. Dothey have bundled packages... Boxes, dishes, installation etc.
I just want it done by someone and nbot to mess around. PLEASE any more suggestions. Thanks

I don't mean to hijack this thread, but I've taken my Skybox over from the UK and kept all my subscriptions, does anyone think it would be possible to get it to work?
Re: How to get Satellite TV in Finland
for some channels yes. it depends which astra satellite they are from since some of them have a tight footprint centered on the UK. these have mostly free to air channels (eg BBC1). The wider beam channels can be picked up although south beam needs a big dish (1.2m at least and 1.8m better)scousefinn wrote:I don't mean to hijack this thread, but I've taken my Skybox over from the UK and kept all my subscriptions, does anyone think it would be possible to get it to work?

Thank you! To be honest it's the Sky Sports and Premier Sports Channels I really want. I'll be in Tampere so hopefully it will work..riku2 wrote:for some channels yes. it depends which astra satellite they are from since some of them have a tight footprint centered on the UK. these have mostly free to air channels (eg BBC1). I use sky in Finland. the only problem is with hd channels, since sky moved some of them to a southern transponder ( not all of them , though) recently. so if you have hd subscription you have to know that you will see only half of hd channels. the other problem is the dig 1,8 offset is a minimum . and in Tampere it will be worse than in helsinki. if you need help let me know....scousefinn wrote:I don't mean to hijack this thread, but I've taken my Skybox over from the UK and kept all my subscriptions, does anyone think it would be possible to get it to work?
What do you want from me?????
