resident permit extension and part time job

hello!
I am student and had applied for resident permit extension as it was valid till last week. I got a part time job offer and even the employer was happy to hire. But later he told me he need a valid permit to work or any document where it says i am allowed to work. I replied i had applied and will be getting within this month and showed him the certificate police gave me when i applied for extension but he say it doesnt prove i m allowed to work.

Is there anyway beyond waiting for resident permit card ??

The certificate is not enough as it doesn't show how many hours you are supposed to work. Go back to the station and explain your situation. If you are clear enough and you are lucky enough to find a reasonable Person to serve you then you might get a letter that shows that you are allowed to work for 25 hours and that your permit is being processed. You could also apply for a certificate from the immigration service:

I don't know if the certificates they give explicitly spell out the right to work so you could give them a call and ask if it has that information.

I never had to show any certificate. I don't see why you should either. Does your employer not trust you?
