Changin B type permit to A type

Hello everyone, I have a question about my residence permit issue. Here my situation and question:

I have work contract for between 03/2013 - 03/2014 and have a B type residence permit right now. I talked with my company and they approved to renew my contract earlier than 03/2014 and the new contract dates will be 10/2013 - 04/2016 (2.5 years). My current residence permit will expire at 02/2014 (5 month remaining from now). I have arranged the appointment also to make my application to police. My question:

May there be any problem during my application ? Because I am applying to A type permit 5 months before the expiration date of existing B type permit. I thought that, they may refuse my application and tell me to wait until the existing B type permit expires. Is there in anyone here who experienced or have a knowledge about my situation ?

Rest assured, they won't. Once you get A permit, your B permit will be stamped 'cancelled/mitätön'.

I saw your another post. give a month or two depending upon how big the city is. These days you need to book appointments online and queue can be long. So, it's better to look out appointment schedule already to see whether you will get the appointment on time - a month or two before the permit runs out.

While your application for renewal is in process with immigration police you can work as normal after the expiry of the old one.

When you receive your first A permit , its only for 1 year, and then you have to renew again after that year giving you option on the 4 year one.
Immigration police take your old card and give you the new one.

I did mine 2 months before expiry and it came back 3 weeks after expiry.
Im thinking the decision from the employment office doesn't go through until completion of old contract anyway.(lust a thought on contracting laws and mol.fi practice)
