anyone here wanna help a canadian?
i need some help.
my mom passed away 6 years ago. she was born and raised in finland, then moved to canada, i dont really know much about the place she came from, except it was a small town. (in 1960s) all i really have is this flag of the coat of arms from the town. (pic related) the coat of arms may be out of date? but if someone can find out where its from it would help alot. i really want to go visit the town she was born it, my father, doesnt no the name of the town. please if anyone can help, i'd be very grateful,

Here's a list of current and former coats of arms of Finnish cities and municipalities: http://fi.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suomen_kuntavaakunat
We can clearly see that the same golden bow is used in the coat of arms of several places in Savo (like Iisalmi, as mentioned by cors187). And as it turns out, the golden bow is the symbol of the historical province of Savo: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Savonia_(h ... _province)
None of this matters, though, since I found it! It's the coat of arms of the Mustonen family: http://mustos-suku.org/sukuvaakuna.html
It seems they've done quite a lot of genealogy research, so I'm sure they'll be able to tell you a lot about your ancestors.
