Employment Contract ENDED

I came to Finland in 2006 from Asia to study degree program, graduated and continued my Masters and Graduated,all this time my residence permit was B status,
hile am student, got a fixed term full time job for 16 months ( B status residence permit ,) am working now, which will end in 31 January 2014. I went to polisii to ask what will happen if I did not get a job, or study place or any other reason to stay in Finland than looking for job? They told me I must leave Finland right away on 31.01.2014,
My question is; do you know any one whose Employment Contract was ENDED? what is his fate?
What I should do before i leave? just change address and take my stuff and leave?
I must get a job, it is a wake up call!

Deportation is from section 143 onwards. Yes if you do not get your residency permit renewed you will eventually be told to leave. Doing it voluntarily would at least involve notifying the local registration offices (maistraatti) about the move. Personally I think we should be more lenient towards people who have degrees from here (in case they for example have savings that allow them to stay here and look for jobs). We do have the rule that you can look for a job for six months when graduating but I don't think that applies to you any more. Good luck with finding grounds on witch to renew your application.

As a note if you challenge the decision in administrative court, they can't deport you until the court has handled the case. I am not sure what good that would do besides giving more time to put affairs in order.
