Submitting Citizenship Application

Post by justhi » Thu Sep 19, 2013 9:13 pm

Hi,

Only 2 months are left in completion of my time period requirement for applying for citizenship. I want to know whether I can submit my application now for citizenship as I heard from someone that I can do that but then I asked the immigration they said you should not submit it until you meet all requirements but you can do it on your own risk.

So I want to know how many months before the actual time we can lodge the application or they can reject my application just on the basis that my 2 months are still remaining, although my all other requirements are complete?

Please share your experience, because I am quite confused. And also please tell me how to make my application accurate/proper so that they can process it faster?

Thanks in Advance,

Regards,

JH

If you apply now and they take your application under scrutiny within two months they can then easily reject your application as you clearly don't fulfill the requirements. If it takes longer, then you have done your time.

If you are prepared to pay the fees twice then you can just apply again later if the first one gets rejected due to being processed too soon.

I wondered that myself. Maybe's he knows Finnish sign language only :). Still since the board is generally in English it makes sense to keep threads that way.

He wasnt mute or deaf. And being swedish speaking... no. Being english is good point but...
Why you want info from people who dont have citizenship or have any way to get one.

Law doesn't require you to speak/write good/fluent Finnish to get Finnish citizenship. So Onkko your point is pointless. You just need to have basic skills in Finnish or Swedish language.

Go and fight and "vittuilla" your MP not the poster!

Anyone tried asking this in Finnish, on a Finnish board, e.g. Suomi24.fi ?

You didn't get my point.

Law requires you to know only very basic Finnish/Swedsih. It doesn't require the person to be able to write this kind of question in Finnish/Swedish. So I don't see any problem with the OP writing in English. Yes, everybody living in Finland should try to learn as much Finnish as possible, but the OP is not asking you "where is the post office?" in English. S/he is asking a complex question which requires very good knowledge of a language to be able to write it in that language, and OP simply is not required by the law to be able to know that level of Finnish/Swedish

Yep, the law does not require fluency and it would be a very silly law if it would. Onkko is just having one of his regular homma-fits...
