Moving away & credit cards

What happens to our credit cards if we move away permanently? Do they automatically get cancelled? We haven't closed our Finnish bank accounts.

No, they don´t automatically get cancelled. This is something you should discuss with your bank, if you want to keep your cards and if your bank wants to keep you as a customer.

Did you notify Maistraatti? They should get a notification that way that you moved abroad. One thing that can be a problem is if they do not have a way to send you mail. I don't think they automatically cancel anything since for example my relatives have moved abroad and continued moving cards from here.

Some (most? all?) wont send you a new card to an overseas address. I had a problem recently as I am working overseas, but luckily it was a card for a joint account and managed to get them to send it to my better half who is still registered living in Finland.
