Is not being unemployed a requirement for citizenship?

Where to buy? Where can I find? How do I? Getting started.

Is not being unemployed a requirement for citizenship?

Post by jhegedus42 » Tue Sep 24, 2013 6:03 pm

Dear Forum Members,

I am an EU citizen, I've been living in Finland for 5 years now, I am planning to apply for citizenship.
However, I am currently unemployed and receive benefits from the state (I've been employed for 4 years but the contract ended).
Is being employed a pre-requisite for getting the Finnish citizenship?
Where can I find out about the precise requirements for obtaining a citizenship?

Cheers,

Jozsef

Being employed is not a requirement. If you have a kela card then that is enough. You should have a source of income/support, and kela is one
