Prices at Finnish market

Post by Fish » Sat Sep 28, 2013 2:16 pm

Hi,
I have faced several cases of one same product being sold for different prices at different stores (and I mean a considerable difference in the prices; for example, the Snickers chocolate is 1.3e at R-kioski while Alepa sells it for 0.55e). Is there any specific reason behind it?

convenience = higher price.
Also the less competition then the higher the difference between stores. They will charge what they think returns the most profit for them. If there were more 24h mini supermarkets then R kioski would have to lower their prices.

R kioski is not a cheap place to shop, I don't remember the last time I bought anything there and I've lived in Finland for 14 years.

if you look carefully you'll find also very cheap items also at r kioski,every shop sell some items cheaply in order to get customers in in the hope they will buy more expensive items.For example the k market near me sells 1 liter extra virgin olive oil for under 4 euros,and they don't have that oil in the big kcitymarket

There are some cracks in the cartel setting up the prices.
