Hello!
I looked throw this forum but I did not find any case like mine so I had to right in new topic if someone can help.
Just a simple question: Residence time in Finland exactly 4 years, I just got my P residence permit. I want to apply for finnish citizenship but Im a little bit confused cos I was once studying abroad for 6 months. Do I apply for citizenship now or just after 6 months? I mean Do migri count that 6 months of absence or not?
Thanx

Finnish citizenship!!!

If you are temporarily absent from Finland for over six months but no longer than one year, your continuous period of residence will not be interrupted. However, the period of absence is not counted as continuous residential time.
If you are absent from Finland for longer than one year, your periods of residence in Finland will be taken into account as an accumulated period of residence.
So this means that my absence will not be counted in residential time?

With the information you gave: yes it will be counted. However if you were abroad _over_ six months, then it won't be counted. Check the dates.
