Confused about the pay i recieve

Hi,
I work as a software developer in helsinki region. I have more than 3 years of s/w development experience. Currently, I am working for the last one year as a permenant employee before that i was on contract for 2 years and found this job after my that contract ran out.
The task which i have been doing in this job is mostly with java, db , xml and web dev. I didnt had much experience with any of these before starting this job. My previous experience was with c++.
So, when i started with my current job i was offered 2300 euros and since i was unemployed for a while so i took the offer but since then i have been working very hard and improving my skills. Initially, I was content with the work and pay i was getting but as time goes on I feel confused. I mean what should a person like my background should earn. I think it should be more than what I am getting.
What should i do now, how does the work culture in finland goes. Shall i discuss my feelings with my manager directly and ask for more pay or shall i start looking for new job or shall i just wait for them to realize that I deserve more (i dont think i would do this

).
(P.S : I wish i knew how much other people in my company are earning so i could have had some comparision criteria and knew exactly what was happening)

Well, you have a job, so thats one thing to consider. If the workplace doesn't have quarterly YT, thats a definite plus. You have your yearly review with the boss (or should at least) - thats the time you ask for more money and he tells you no. Or miracles happen. And as to what comes to your colleagues salaries... well, tax records are public...

And if they pay, go on all the courses/certifications available. Looks good on the CV

14.50/hr would fit in the office pecking order.I bet there's someone on 13.00/hr.
Further research suggests your on level2 salary of a 4-5 tier system.
Level2 is your trusted entry worker.

Meaning, Any one can view any one's salary :S

Thanks, thats useful. Bytheway, How and when can one move to next level and how much pay hike one gets moving from one level to another and Is it possible that a person moves 2 level up or is it not possible(by law).

You must really be lucky. Its Finnish acronym for "redundancy rounds". (An insurance against YT is to join the YTK, and pay into the unemployment fund, as otherwise when the YT comes you won't get jack for unemployment.)

You can guesstimate ( at least the minimum) off the union agreements, but the IT sector has been a bit wild.

As for payrises and promotions - depends on the company I suppose...
