Hi,
Is it true that all people's income/taxes are made public? I mean I can read everywhere about the top 2000 earners and biggest tax payers so I'm wondering are all people's taxes made public no matter how much you earn a year or just for the top ones?
If yes can you guys point me to the right location where I can check them out?
Kiitos!
Taxes/income is made public

If you can do it for free, you can visit the relevant tax office. There are also commercial catalogs based on the same information:

F*cking sucks....
I don't make a huge palkka, but I still don't want my private information out there for any ol' Joe to look at.
On the otherhand, it'll help with jacka*se Fathers who don't want to pay for their kids.
Still, it's such an invasion of privacy.

Hm, I think I missed some important news. Does this change concern only public sector employees or everyone (private sector including)? Also, to confirm my understanding: I just go to my local VERO office and request information about X, and the office is obligated to provide this information to me? In addition, does the inquired person get the right to trace back the people who were viewing his information (i.e. is it stored in the system that person Y wanted to view a person X, so the person X can confirm later who was inquiring about his or her incomes)?
P.S. Any elaboration about the background idea of why this change was made? I can understand making open-access info regarding public servants - i.e. providing the public an overview of how their taxes are being spent. But private sector?

Change to public? In nineteenth century. In current form since 1960s.
