How much can disposable contact lenses cost in Finland?

Post by ljl16 » Sun Nov 03, 2013 6:51 pm

Hi everyone,

I have never worn contact lenses and I was wondering how much can them cost here. I would like to use them for special occasions (day-long use). Since I am flying soon home I was wondering what the price difference may be and how convenient is it to wait it out.

Cheers,

It's cheaper to buy online than from stores. Here you can have an idea about the prices

If you have never worn any contact lenses you first should go to an eye specialist or at least an optician. Any good one should look at your eyes and discuss with you what you want to use them for, see which ones best suit your lifestyle (daily ones, monthly ones, ...), and give (order) you free test lenses so you can try them and see if they fit you.

Most people are very uncomplicated when it comes to contact lenses, but many, like me, are harder cases. Not only do I have a strong curvature of the corneal surface, my eyes are also quite sensitive. As I don't use the lenses every day, as it's hard for me to work on the computer for a longer time when I wear them, and I want to be flexibel, I have settled on daily lenses.

I order mine from an online shop now, and including delivery it's some 45 Euro per eye for 90 lenses, so 30 Euro for a full months supply for both eyes. But that's my toric lenses, standard ones are a bit cheaper.

But important is to first have a specialist look at it, don't just order lenses and try them. It's important that they fit right, otherwise you can develop serious eye problems, and only a professional can check that.
