How to register for a Driving License theory test in Finland

Hi,
I am having a driving license from abroad and I just need to pass the theory test and the practical driving license test to get the Finnish driving license test. I don't need to take classes. I am late in getting my driving license exchanged with a Finnish driving license. Can anybody tell me how and where I can register for a driving license theory test?

What is the place where they organize a driving license theory test? On which number I should call to register for the exam?

I will be very grateful for your answer.

I think you should contact a driving school. There are plenty everywhere in the Helsinki/Vantaa/Espoo area.

They can organise it all for you then.

If you aren't use to driving in the type of winters we have here, it might be a good idea to get some lessons in winter driving. If not for your own sake, but for other drivers on the roads. To keep them safe incase you should accidently cause an accident.

You are right. I must call a driving school and in order for the practical exam, I must say that it is very necessary for taking driving lessons to be able to drive in the dark and in the snow.

I was exactly in your situation some years back. I did as Flossy has suggested you to do. Went to a driving school, used their book and system to get ready for theory test and also took some driving (practice) lessons in Winter and took my test also in winter. Passed all without any problem in first attempt.

Theory test isn't the problem, driving one is. It is rare that driving schools rent the car just for the test.

Without any lessons it might be hard, but if you have taken a couple of lessons and they see that you can drive then they mostly rent the car!

After getting registered for the Driving license Theory exam from the Police, you can see your location to appear for the exam from http://www.ajovarma.fi/Sivut/default.aspx, provided where (in which municipality) you have registered for the test.
