Cleaning

Post by Flossy1978 » Thu Nov 28, 2013 12:22 pm

Can anyone tell me about cleaners who clean their home?

I need my flat cleaned/scrubbed clean for inspection when leaving the home.

So that would mean I need behind the fridge and oven cleaned. Cleaning the windows - opening them to clean between them too etc. Walls will need wiping. Inside cupboards etc.

The flat is only 49 neliö. Not very big. Would take probably a few hours to do. It's not so dirty. But I always leave my homes in immaculate condition when I leave them. So I'd like it done properly to pass inspection.

I've got an ill back and can't do the cleaning myself.

So anyone got an idea of a ballpark figure for doing such cleaning?

Sorry not answering your question but just wanted to say that unless your contract stipulates this kind of cleaning, you are not supposed to clean in such a detail. Mostly you are suppoed to leave commonly used areas in a bit tidy condition. Cleaning the floor, oven , toilet seat and mirrors should be enough. At least never heard of anybody opening and cleaning the windows.

Yes well, I know Finns don't really clean their homes when they leave them. So every single place I've lived in has been left MUCH cleaner than it was when I moved in when I leave.

I am not Finnish and do the cleaning to the standards of which I am accustomed to doing, as I've done it dozens of times since I moved around a lot growing up. So I want it really clean when I leave. I can't help it.

The area between each window is filthy. The previous neighbour left them filthy. I can't in good conscience leave them filthy when I leave.

They were pigs which we didn't notice at all when we looked at the house prior to putting in an offer.
Couldn't you smell the bad smell when you entered the house to have a look before renting/buying? Animal smell is really a disgusting thing. It's very hard to get rid of it. Mostly we just get used to it and think it's gone :)

That sucks, Cory.

Okey. I am willing to offer someone 20€ an hour to clean for me. But the person would have to be willing to clean like a freak, like I do when I leave a place LOL. I am not normally a cleaning freak, I actually hate doing it. But I never ever leave a home with any dirtiness whatsoever. I go above what is expected of me to clean a place.

I don't want to employ any one from those big companies like SOL. They are the sh*ttiest cleaners. At least at my workplace they are.

I guess when it's time I need the cleaner, all I have to do is advertise on here LOL. I don't know how they go about paying taxes on it. I guess that's up to them to pay the taxes needed.

Thanks for the advice!

Erm, linear thinking, can't help it!

So, you live there, and then clean before you leave? I clean thoroughly when I move in, clean when we live there, and once we've moved out! But that's just me!

I know what some of the posters went through. Some of the previous places we lived in... even had used contraceptives (in the fireplace!!!), broken beer bottles etc. Our current home, I lifted up all the drain covers, filled with hair, a comb, and again, a stuck used latex! The smilies need to expand, to include a pig sty!

Of course I clean when I move in and while I am living in a place LOL. The places are not clean when I move it. In the place I live now I moved the fridge and oven when I moved in and it was gross. No one must have cleaned there in the last 17 years. Even inside the oven wasn't cleaned.

I am not sure how clean I should clean this place. It needs a new floor and the walls to be repainted because they are the pastel blue and green colours of the 90's decade. It's a city owned apartment and I think they are renovating them as the people move out. I am sure if I tell the city it needs renovating, they might just do it and I won't have to clean properly then. It wasn't inspected before I moved in. I know this because the neighbour who lived here moved into the flat right next door because it had been renovated. She said no one came to check it. And she will sign the paper which states all the things wrong with the place, because they were there when she lived here. So I don't lose my deposit.

All I know is I have a rather ill spine. Välilevy are coming in my neck and upper back. So I can't be doing heavy duty cleaning. It's hard enough to do even basic cleaning right now.
