Questions about finland?
Re: Questions about finland?
Moi,
thanks for the interesting replies. Thanks Jukka Aho for these great links. I will save them to my browser.
I often listen to all kinds of dialects and slangs, because i am working in customer service. Today a guy referred to our RFID-lätkät as läpsäkköitä, after thinkin a few seconds I udnerstood what he meant. Some guys are really creative... hehe.
Although customer service is hard sometimes, I find it very interesting to hear new words and otherwise constanly learn new things. It develops my social skills to communicate with Finns from all over Finland and I try to make a good impression (as a foreigner)
I think it is a pity if foreigner give up the language because it is hard, I think anyone should learn at least the basics. Nobody is perfect and Finns appreciate a lot if you at least try. Sisu is on e of the things that foreigners should learn. With sisu it is easier to live here.
