Student residence permit

Post by parviz11 » Sat Dec 28, 2013 9:20 pm

Hi,

I have a student residence permit (B) and I know that it gives me a right to work 25 hours/week. Does anybody know if it also gives me right to work in any other EU/EEA country?

You would have to apply again in the other country:

Hi,
Thanks for your reply. I couldn't find any clear statement about that in this website. But if you mean this:

"To move from one Schengen area country to another for more than three months, you will need a long-term visa and/or a permit for that country. If you wish to work, study or join your family in the second country, you may have to fulfil more national conditions."

This statement doesn't clearly say if I have a right to work within 3 month (the right that I have for entering to other Schengen area countries).

Which part of "you need to..." makes you imagine that it would be allowed?

It says if you want to stay more than three month... But what if I have a 2-3 month internship from a company in other EU country? Or let me put it this way. Can I apply for a short term internship, 2-3 months, in other EU country? I am wondering if I have a right to work in other country for a short period. I hope my question is clear now.

Where does it say you would have a right?

No, there is no universal right, each country has its own rules.

student permits given in one country may not cover the regulations of other country. Say, you can work for 25 hrs/week in Finland but it might not be the same in Estonia.
If the replies given in here are not satisfactory then why don't you give a ring to the ole good immigration office? They will give you better answers.

And migri most likely won't know what regulations there are in other countries...
