Getting it done by JAS is ~300€.Jukka Aho wrote:I have no idea how hard it is to do a DIY replacement but the other day I was just browsing eBay and noted many Chinese sellers offer shutter assemblies for various types of popular DSLR camera bodies in the range of $20...$40.Upphew wrote:No. Shutter is the only thing that, imo, might need servicing after warranty and most likely you are better off getting new body than servicing the shutter with your own money.

As Upphew indicated, service is expensive here. The camera bodies you intend to buy are fairly cheap (and unlike possibly good lenses) and those things do not keep value well. It is unlikely you'd find it sensible to get it repaired outside warranty period if the job isn't paid by an insurance company.

Thank you all for your invaluable replies. I am an amateur hobby photographer. What do you think of Rajala Pro Shop in Joensuu. Are they good in service? I had a chat with one of their sales person who was helpful.

No idea about Joensuu or service. I ordered my D80 from them back in the day, not because of service, but for price.deepupkn wrote:Thank you all for your invaluable replies. It's because of the price package, I am leaning my decision to buy the camera from Rajala. They have got a good package, which I couldn't find anywhere in Finland. The only other place is online; superkuva.fi. But I read couple of reviews that pointed out how bad or not up to mark their service is/was - some package never arrived, some came after 1 - 2 months...... It was maybe just for some people, but when you are spending a substantial amount of money to buy something, the trust in the service is a must. Can anyone comment on it?Upphew wrote:No idea about Joensuu or service. Although here they took over a second shop which they more or less turned into a print shop with some additional camera sales. Those staff is not up to scratch.
