Hi,
I am having a hard time choosing a polytechnic and it's not a matter of degree programs as I've already chosen one, it seems to me that all polytechnics are equally great and offer the same interesting opportunities. Do you guys think there exist some quality gaps between them?
Choosing a polytechnic to apply to
Re: Choosing a polytechnic to apply to
It depends on a programme you are in.... From my impressions Metropolia is maybe better than other polytechnics in Helsinki, and I would not go to the one I am currently in) But the same complaints as I have about my own one, I have heard about other ones as well.
But, it all depends on a programme.
(to be honest if I had a choice I would study in the university, but for this you need to know Finnish or Swedish)

All institutions of higher education are regularly audited so you might find some interesting information in the reports that are published here:

Otherwise, I would say it depends on which subject you want to study. Not all the UAS offer the same programmes.

It is true about the subjects... for example, I think that nursing programmes are more or less okey, some of them even might be good. But business education can be very shallow. For business education I would go either to universities, or to Metropolia.
On the other hand, if there is no chance to go to these ones, it does not matter. And if you are a motivated person you can benefit from any place.

I think it depends on the subject you want to study. If you are going for engineering or business I would say Metropolia. For BIT, I would say Haaga-Helia, since they offer SAP, Big Data and other cool stuffs.

Thank you guys, I especially agree with @Evaphio for saying that the most important thing is motivation, the rest is details.
I chose International Business by the way.
