Graphic designer from Poland looking for a job

I'm new at this forum and at firs I would like to say Hello

.

I am a hard working graphic designer from Poland who actually is looking for a job in Finland.
At this moment I am working as a graphic designer in one of the bigest 4 star hotel in Poland.
In 2010 I graduated on University of Information Technology and Management in Rzeszow majoring in computer graphics and animation. I have certificate of completion of computer graphics course at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis.

I know... there is many websites with job offers, but in example in Poland those portals are useless.

Hei Rinso, why is better to keep the job?

Having an income instead of having no income and trying to find a job (which can take a long time if you don't speak the lingo).

Are people paid well for web graphics in Finland?

In the US it has always been a mystery to me that their pay is usually near the bottom when they're so essential and they seem to me to have a rarer and greater gift than those of us who who do programming and sysadmin.

I'd rather have their gift -- but keep the perqs of being on the dry end of the process.

I'm modeling mostly in 3ds max and those are mostly models, not characters (I had some character models / animations, but I lost them somewhere

Yes I have basic knowledge about programming.
Actually mostly Java for android (Eclipse) - it's a hobby (but it's gives me some extra money - thanks to advertises

I was thinking about travell to other place and look for a job but, its hard decision... but actually I'm "collecting my free days in job"...

No, not really that well paid. Web graphics guys are dime for a dozen, they do not have rare gift or great gift. It is so much less demanding task really. Artsy guys are in vast overabudance and thus not paid much. It just looks hard for software people while it is not that hard.

So OP, keep your job. Here you are going to fight uphill battle against dozens of other graphic people.

How about the games industry? I don't know what the situation is for artists or what the requirements are, but it's a growing industry atm in Finland, so there might be companies looking. Here is a list of games companies: http://www.neogames.fi/en/industry-info/operators/

I would not recommend coming over here and looking for a job, Finding and getting a job takes time so you will just go back empty handed. Apply for jobs online.

For headhunting you might try places like Barona. Or search yourself for open vacancies in places like www.monster.fi. Search old posts here for other places.

There's also a certain dynamic that comes into play, making it easier to get a higher-level Finnish job from abroad.

If you are a foreign artist (or programmer) and look in some sense successful, a Finnish company can be more eager to get you, even wondering whether you'll think they're good for you to consider working for them.

But if you're jobless in Finland, the same company can think "Well, this person can't be all that good if they're in Finland looking for a job."

I haven't experienced it, but I've definitely seen it.

I didn't like your call for application, as simple as that.

OK, now I understand that you try to attack and calumniate me time after time just because you don't like my call for application. Thank you.

Again, I have my own business, and I have my own decision. I would like to stay small, I have my works, I don't have time to do the train for 20 devs, and I don't want TE's money in your way. I also don't need to do as Finns do, I do whatever I want because this is my business.

I look for internship because I have my own vision, I have my own projects and I have my own plan to talk and to work with people I choose. So thank you for your advice and I wish you could success with your consulting firm.

And this designer from Poland is looking for a job, me looking for internship, we don't have any relation between, so please stop. Thank.
