Is Russian visa required if traveling by Allegro?
Is Russian visa required if traveling by Allegro?
Is the visa required for the non-EU person with Finnish residence permit if traveling by Allegro? I have remembered reading somewhere that there is possibility to travel visa free by Allegro. Is it true?

There's no exemption for it so you need a visa:

If you take the cruise to St. Petersburg, you can skip the visa.

why would russian border guards brother if you have a residence permit in Finland ? they look at your passport not at your status in Finland. If you come from outside EU and not out of the country whose citizens do not require visa ( for example Turkey) you should get one.
What do you want from me?????

I understand the latter point that there are number of countries whose nationalities are allowed visa free travel ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visa_polic ... free_Entry ), but not the first part. Citizen's of EU countries ARE required to have a visa, as are most of the other foreigners, exception being those coming on that one cruise line (or few specific cruise lines?).foca wrote:If you come from outside EU and not out of the country whose citizens do not require visa ( for example Turkey) you should get one.

Absolutely! I literally have gotten thrown off that train on the way to St Petersburg for not having the visa (US citizen with Finnish residence permit). Don't let it happen to you - get it taken care of!

I assume you are talking about train, that hope was abolished over 2 years ago and cant find anything new about that.rio wrote:Is the visa required for the non-EU person with Finnish residence permit if traveling by Allegro? I meant that all EU citizens require a visa , and that there are countries outside EC whose citizens do not require an entry visa ( like Turkey). the official position of the Russian government is that visa regulations apply only to countries that do not allow Russian citizens to enter without visa..Rip wrote:I understand the latter point that there are number of countries whose nationalities are allowed visa free travel ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visa_polic ... free_Entry ), but not the first part.
