Citizenship also has duties, and in many countries you have to give up your old citizenship(s) for obtaining a new citizenship.
Different from that, there is not really a point in having a right you have cancelled.

In OP's case, she has lost her right of permanent residence on her own initiative as she ticked moving out of Finland permanently at maistraati? This sounds more plausible than 'you were away longer than time allowed' explanation.
What also interests me is .... whether there is any fast track for regaining right of permanent residence lost in the OP's manner.

Without further information there are several possibilities what might have happened.

If she still has the permanent right of residence and Maistraatti wrongly considers her having lost that then she still has it.

Does maistratti have that (Permanent resident status) information anyway.
Isnt it true that you loose your permanent residing address after leaving the country for 6 months, ie- non tax resident.

It`s all a bit messy, I will not bore you with my story.
I am still trying to work it out. Just so much: do not let anybody at Majstraati tick the box "permanent" just because you dont know how long you are going to be out of Finland...
"If your have moved permanently abroad, you will no longer have a municipality of residence in Finland. Instead, you will be registered with a so-called population register municipality, which is the same as your last municipality of residence." http://www.vrk.fi
Don't know if you found a way out to regain your status! But, if not, you can always write an application to the Maistraati in your area and make a strong appeal/request for reconsideration. Clearly present your reason for temporary stay abroad and any additional information for the local registrar office. Write to convince them that you ticked the move box unintentionally. Remember, Finns are sensible, detail-oriented people. You can win your case by explaining the local registrar office about your past situation and request for a reconsideration. I hope you will be able to regain your permanent status in their register. Good luck!

You're married to non-Finnish EU citizen? Yes,the card would be canceled. You may apply for a residence permit. If you have a job, chances for getting that permit should be good. Otherwise it is harder, though not impossible. What other ties you possibly have to this country except that marriage?
