Where to buy wheat flour (vehnäjauho) in Finland?

Post by rikute » Sun Feb 16, 2014 5:40 pm

Hello,

I've been looking for wheat flour here in Finland for months now, but it seems like a mission-impossible! :ohno:
I want to bake bread but it seems like "bread flour" here is considered to be something with grains. So the closest I could get was Puolikarkea Vehnäjauho.

But I am looking for pure, white wheat flour.

Erikoisvehnäjauho contains too less protein (11-12g) and I want something that contains more than 13g.

Have anybody encountered the same problem and found out where you could buy standard white flour in Finland?

Thanks for your help!

Hiivaleipävehnäjauho (strong plain flour) contains 14g protein.

You can find it in every supermarket and I think Rainbow (Prisma/S Market) and Pirkka (Citymarket/K-market) also have their own brand.
I would call it strong plain flour in British English.
