? We called for the queue and I got in fast due to chronic health issue, but my husband was told he only qualifies for a check up in 2016!

Any relatively cheap check ups in the area?
Thanks!

Hi.
Googling "Halpa hammaslääkäri Helsinki" gives you many clinics' names. One of them, Hammaslääkärikeskus, puts its ad
regularly on Metro newspaper. The ad says tartar removal and flouring costs 32€ to the customer (after Kela compensation of 27€.)
I go to Helsinki city clinic for the same treatment twice a year and the last time (two weeks ago) it cost me 37,30€.
What the @#$%. I went to Kela office today and asked how come a private clinic charged less than the public one.
The info said that she could not take a stand on the commercial clinics.
Maybe there is a hidden charge, I guess.

You'd think so. I live in the boonies and our local dentist speaks really good English, so why not the folks in the Helsinki clinic.
I have been told most Finns speak English but they hide it because they're embarrassed of mistakes. That seems to be true, one of my inlaw's friends was always quiet until he started ripping on foreigners in English to me...
