Problem with plumbing company

Post by aasni15 » Mon Mar 03, 2014 2:18 pm

We have called a plumbing company to come and do some work and now they are trying to charge us for one hour more than they should. The plumber was at our place for about 2,5 hours, but they want us to pay for 4 hours of work (travel costs are charged separately). I sent them a complaint and they are claiming there was 3,5h of work. When I wrote the exact times when the plumber came and left, they wrote that their cars are equipped with location system and that they checked the times there. So, I guess their car might have been parked somewhere near our place for 3,5h, but the plumber left one hour earlier. Is there something I can do (other than just send them complaints and refuse to pay)? Is there someone I can turn to for help with this matter?

The thing is that I don't want to go to court over 55 eur. The easiest for me would be to just pay and forget about it, but maybe this isn't just an isolated case. Maybe this is the way they are stealing from other people too, or this plumber is the one who goes to have lunch or something while he leaves the company car at the workplace. Any suggestions, what could I do to solve this?

Its possible you have put the spotlight on a work practice that regularly sees employees ripping their companies in such ways. Maybe he thought you were a random immigrant who would not understand.
55 euro /hr is a rather good price per/hr too.
