Hi,
I'm thinking about moving to Imarta in the next year and I was wondering how hard it would be to get a English teaching job in a high school/university in Imatra?
I don't speak Finnish but I'm learning so by the time I'm ready to move, I'll have at least a basic level of the language.
Any comments/suggestions are greatly appreciated!
Thank you

You don't write where you're from or what teaching qualifications you have. Might help you get useful answers.

This questions comes often, so search the forum for details.
But the short answer is without official qualifications and good Finnish you'll have very little chance. The best you can hope for is freelance work (incompany training) but that will never be a full time job.
And than there is this little hurdle: no job, no residence permit.

Even with full qualification from the US, you have to get them processed here & accepted and that is no given (depending on how much education you have & which diplomas). This is not a place where the level of English is so low that people will be desperate to have anyone teach just because they are a native English speaker. You will also have problems getting a residence permit based on these skills.

And since nobody pointed it out yet: Imatra doesn't have a university.
