moottoripyörä

Post by Only-Me » Fri Mar 07, 2014 7:50 pm

I am an Englishman Living in Jyväskylä.
I AM building a chopper motorbike.
I have started the frame.
But can someone please help I am being told that I will not be able to put it on the road in Finland.
One of my work mates told me the law on cars has changed for the better this year, you can change the frame and engine?

I do plan on getting this bike on the road some how even if I have to take it to England register it for the English road and bring it into the country as an import.
Not got the money to do that but I have worked hard and long to get this bike and at 53 years young I will get to ride it

I hope someone can help me.
Need all the help I can

God bless Roy

No, stupid.

How many self-welded Finnish motorcycle frames you have seen?

You think Finns are somehow idiots????

Go to the local biker gang garage and get explained "all the things everyone knows".

Motorcycle body welding has to be tested with the safety elves at VTKK in a robot that twists it until it breaks.

And changing enough parts you need the chopper to pass "new" EU rules with airbags and whatnot...

Its not by "engine number age" as in UK

=Not happening.

Pursuivant.

I do not think Finnish are Idiots and I am no idiot I do know about making frames I have re-build chopper, trike's welded new headstocks on bikes.

I know the English way they do thing but I do not know the Finnish way I have talked to some bikers here.
But I have always tried to get as many peoples advice as I can and as Finland is my new home I do not want to brake the law here and get in trouble.

I thank you for the link you have gave me I will be going to look at it now

God bless Roy

I'd love to test drive your Chopper though
well I would like to ride it one day :D
just need to find out what I need to do LoL
But I know I will get there.

And WHEN I do get it on the road if we ever meet you can have a test ride.
as long as I can have test ride of yours

if you have Google SketchUp I can send you a 3D drawing of what I hope it to look like :)

I never thought Chopper and God bless as being cool
it just who I am
So God be with you and All as your ride down the road of life.

Have you looked at insurance premiums here? If your bike is worth 1000 or 10000 euro's, do not be surprised the premium for traffic insurance might be 800-1000.

What you do is buy enough land and make a road. Far cheaper than the taxes and fees.
