There are a number of threads on intl phone calls - but none recently and those offering services 99599 99533 etc seem to change their policies and prices on a weekly basis or so it seems.
The big ones - DNA Elisa Saunalahti and Sonera have total rip-off prices.
(I really don't find Skype too attractive - there's even a problem with being 'free' - phone calls go on forever)
So for regular cellphone service I notice one looks as if there are attractive prices. But as one has to pay them first I wonder if anyone has any experience?:

Intl Calls from Finland - hotcom
Re: Intl Calls from Finland - hotcom
Hi
I have been using hotcom for 4 years and its effective; beside the amount you load, there is also the local charge fee from your local provider. The problem with hotcom is that sometimes you can dial the number intended to call correctly, but then goes to a different person.I contacted them about this and they said its networking problem and it happens rarely. You could also try this:

I have hotcom as a back up for emergencies. It's not the the cheapest way to call. You pay normal call charges plus hotcom charges. Nowadays when smart phones are also available in affordable prices I think best options are Skype and other Voips, depending on your needs. If you call to Europe/China/US etc then the best is to get an unlimited package of Skype to phone (something like 5 euros/month). But other voips are cheaper. Download an application and call at very cheap prices. I use http://www.megavoip.com/

OK - thanks - I do want to use non-internet systems though - (eg my 'smart phone' costs 2€ a month for 24 months via DNA).
