Hi All,
I park next to this guy with a van. Over time I've noticed that my car has developed a case of dents (we're talking more than 10) which is almost certainly from him opening his door too fast and letting it slam into my car. I've measured from the ground up where I assume his door is hitting mine and it's definitely him doing it.
My car is a 14 year old Audi so I've neglected taking the maximum insurance where these kind of things would most certainly be covered. However, can something else be done legally against this guy who clearly has a blatant disregard for other people's property? Even if I did have insurance coverage he would most certainly be doing this over and over again.
He doesn't speak an ounce of English either because I once asked him if he had any spare jumper cables and he just shook his head walking away. He probably thinks I'm some obnoxious foreigner with an expensive car and now he has no respect for my property.
What else can be done?

First you should try to communicate (again) with the person in order to get it to stop. Assuming you can prove that he has caused the damage it's possible to file a claim against the insurance company of his car. His mandatory insurance will cover damage caused to your car. If you think the damage is intentional, then you should make a crime report to the police.

Take pictures, if there are so many dents, there might be paint from your car on his or vv (or paint gone on his car where he might hit yours). If there is enough evidence (difficult) his insurance should cover.
Looking nice (and saving) has taken over the smart protection by plastic protection on doors. The French cars were the last to let it go (understandable how they drive and park:-))

I would try to communicate with him. If it does not work, then Install a dashboard camera (80-90 eur) . Get proof of evidence. Go to police . As easy as that..
What do you want from me?????

d-bag, almost certainly him, and definitely him? Your Finnish is more than an ounce? Just asking...
I could be wrong but it seems to me that conflicts of any kind are much less escalated here, than any place I have a deeper knowledge in. I would get someone as interpreter, so neither of you get away with the language barrier.
