what could be done in these situations?

If I was unemployed an drunk, I'd probably gone sit next to the guy an said "don't bother my n***"
If I was employed an worried, I'd sat and not paid attention.

I don't understand how people can just sit and act as if nothing is happening. I have stood up many times when witnessed someone getting harassed and bullied. People who just sit and look away are cowards.

I had a similar thing happen many years ago. A posse of arab wannabe gangsters harassing a young couple, also in a full bus.
I sat not far from them. I could see the guy from the couple had a hard time, while his girl was being targeted. They were in despair and in need of help to stop it.
But... no one looked up. Their paper, shoe, or the !"#¤% on the window was suddenly the most interesting thing in the world. My stop came, and I got off. And I knew that couple was stuck in that damn bus.
Did I feel bad when I was off the bus? You bet. I felt like a coward. A spineless thing. I knew, they needed help, and yet, did nothing.
Was that what I wanted, if I was in despair? Seeing all your fellow beings turn their back, and do nothing? I would be bitter. Pieces of your soul, your humanity would break. Never to be whole again.

After that... experience in 1994, whenever I saw people in need, outnumbered or not, I would always step up. Even when I got a solid beatdown together with the victim, I would never regret it.
The pain from the beatings was NOTHING compared to see pain at others, and then choose to do nothing.

A famous guy once wrote, "... All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing."

And ain't that the Goddamn truth! How hard is it to help the weak?

And with that rant done, please never escalate a situation. A simple stand next to the victim is more often than enough. Yell out for anyone to call the Police. The gratitude you will see in their eyes, is worth every moment you sweat with them!

knowing myself, I would have spoken up and give them a piece of my mind. I would have also given a piece of my mind to all those in the bus who witnessed and did nothing.

In Jyvaskyla, I got in the Bus and went to last seat as usual, there was a guy from African Origin few seats in front of me, then enter two Finns (I assume they were drunk) and when they saw that guy they went near by him and start dropping the N-bomb and all those a person can say towards him, in Finnish, English all the languages those guys could speak. The guy just ignored them and went to front (where usually grannies sit) they followed him till there and the swearing didn't stop, it got louder. There was no use of hand or physical violence but just words bomb. There were around 20-30 people in the Bus, when the noise got bigger, most of them opened their devices and put on their earphones, some giggled around, some just ignored as if they are not listening anything. I too was just spectator thinking what could be done and was watching the whole scene from the backseat. After those guys dropped off, lots of ideas came to my head (thinking I could have done this or that):-

1.) Could have taken the video of those things in action and distributed anonymously to Police or Newspapers.
2.) At least would have recorded the voice and made a complaint to Police, I can still identify those guys if I see again (if things need proof).

The question is what could be done in these kind of situations? (without ownself getting much in trouble)

Even if I take the videos and send it to police, will they take any action against it?

Even if Police takes action how possible that they get away saying they were drunk and those words came while intoxicated?
