My RP is in process but need to travel to Switzerland

Post by sayarut11 » Thu May 08, 2014 8:26 pm

Hello everyone,

I'm Indonesian and currently studying in Finland. I have an issue here that really bothers me right now.
I will submit RP extension next week. I have to leave Finland for Switzerland by the end of this month (May) for an intership and will be back in the end of august. However my old residence permit will be expired at 8th of August.
As i know, now is the most crowded time for RP renewal in Finland and i cannot hope that my RP will be done in 2 weeks.
I will get some sort of short RP in Switzerland but i have to return it back before i leave Switzerland.

My question is:
1. Can i still enter finland?
2. If not, is it possible if someone else take my RP instead of me and send it to Switzerland, or if the police station send my RP to my Swiss address?

Thank you for your help! :)

Switzerland is Schengen so you will not pass through immigration. You should still keep the physical card with you.

The RP is delivered with a registered letter. You can give someone the power of attorney to pick it up and then that person sends it to you in Switzerland. I don't know if they deliver directly to foreign addresses.
