I'm going to apply residence permit in Finland soon, I guess it's not a problem I travel in the zone (during that 90days) while waiting for RP as my tourist visa in the period of validity ?
Then what if I have overstayed the 90 days? Can I still travel in Schengen group since I noticed they ain't check passport/visa? Or I can not even leave Finland at all after I apply RP?
Thank you all in advance!

No problem while your visa is valid. In the six years I've followed the board, I have not seen definite answer regarding the situation after it has expired.

I did not check if this has amendments included but here I assume that the text is currently in force:
residence permit: shall mean an authorisation of whatever type issued by a Contracting Party which grants right of residence within its territory. This definition shall not include temporary permission to reside in the territory of a Contracting Party for the purposes of processing an application for asylum or a residence permit;
This means that Schengen rules do not give right to travel in the zone. This means you would have to approach travel to other countries like you would be coming from outside Schengen. Most likely in the case of the OP this means getting a visa.

Even there I don't think she can apply for two Schengen visas (one for Finland) that are valid for longer than 90 days within six month period.'

Yes. I should have also stressed national legislation. I haven't checked what the rules are in the Nordic Passport Union. The best bet for the OP would be to contact the embassy of the destination country in Finland and ask.

Common borders, common info. You are violating rules so.....
Schengen visas == one big common info. If you apply or get visa in Italy finns will know. Thats what common info means. Every border in every country knows that you overstay.
Overstayed.... deported and slammed with ban to enter schengen area in worst case scenario. Best is "dont do this again" with no ban.
Nordic "yo, were friends" applies only nordics and not anyone else. Its different than schengen. For example i can move to sweden and say "hi, im a finn and i came here, wazaaa" but i cant do same with germany.

Hello, I applied for my RP after moving here as well and wanted to travel to Sweden and Estonia while my application was pending. Before I attempted to travel outside of Finland, I contacted the Espoo Police Immigration Dept. and they told me that I would not be allowed to travel outside of Finland while my RP application was pending.
