How to get police clearance certificate?

Post by doforumda » Mon May 19, 2014 5:03 pm

Hi,

I lived in Finland for about 3 years. Then I moved to Germany and now planing to move to New Zealand. One of the requirement for New Zealand visa is to send them police clearance certificate of those countries where I lived more than 12 months. Therefore, now I need to get one from Finland. Could someone please help me how can I get Finland police clearance certificate from Germany?

Note: I am living in Germany as a foreigner.

Hi Thank you for the link. Could you tell me how can I pay 12 Euros? There is not information about payment for people who are living abroad.

"An invoice will be sent separately."
Germany is in SEPA too, so paying bill in bank shouldn't be too hard.

Does it mean I will first receive PC certificate then invoice to pay? As I need it urgently, if they send me invoice first and they wait for payment to be made for sending my PC certificate then it means it will take more than a week.

Last time I talked with a friend of mine familiar with software for banks he said that SEPA does not standardize reference numbers (viitenumero) . This will complicate paying a Finnish invoice but their manual processes can probably handle it if you write the reference number as message.

It was actually this year. Good to know that a standard does exist. The Finnish standard is still separate though. Either he was misguided or then meant that Finnish creditors won't be able to handle the non national reference systems yet.

Please note that the instructions tell that
Time of the delivery is about 7 working days. An extract is sent to that address which is valid in the population register.
Afaik, that means that the delivery will take more than a week (= six working days), so if you send the application in e-mail today, the handling will start tomorrow (Thursday), and 7 working days is 2 days this week, 4 days next week (Thursday is a holiday in Finland) and one day in week after that. And that applies to addresses in Finland only, which is for some reason stated only in the Finnish version of the instructions.
In addition, they will send it to the address that you have in the population register in Finland. Is your current address there? (Based on the information, I cannot tell if they send it abroad or not.)

And if it was not clear, the extract is a paper, not a PC certificate. And the invoice is also a paper, or at least was one a year ago, when I ordered one, although for quite a different purpose.
I'm not sure if they are able to scan it and send it as an e-mail attachment if asked separately, though.
