European Vs non European in respect to Employment office

Post by adamo » Thu Jun 05, 2014 10:58 am

Hello all,

I am just wondering about the advantages of being a European citizen when dealing with the employment office. Is it hassle free, easier to register and get things done compared to a non-EU?
Thanks for your inputs.

In most respects i think the majority of non eu are on work permits, no job no stay.
Unless your talking about the spouse of the working non eu, then just join the Que.

You only need to know one thing in finland, submit all documents asap, theres always someone employed to tell you your not ready for the handouts.

You need finnish to clean or you need a friend on the cleaning squad who will be your leading hand so they can relay orders in the prefered language.

I guess the only difference is that EU nationals can just walk in and ask to be put on job-seekers list, but there aren't many jobs on offer... I guess your best bet would be learning a bit of Finnish and go to these companies, such as adecco, opteam, sol etc. But you'll need at least basic Finnish.
