The reason for a residence permit for a spouse of a Finnish citizen is of course to allow the Finnish citizen to live with her spouse.
When the couple is no longer living together, this is of course no longer a valid reason to grant that spouse a residence permit or unemployment benefits.

I hope you are telling the unemployment office about your business trip
Receiving unemployment benefits without telling the unemployment office that you are doing business is of course a potential reason to put you into jail or at least revoke your residence permit.

Getting PR or Citizenship does not require particularly many years. The spouse had bo right to cancel anything, while if the marriage is the only reason for a foreigner to be here, I don't think it is unreasonable to consider if that stay needs to continue, if the marriage lasts less than four years. Now I start to worry that Finnish spouse has such power in finland to cancel the foreign's residence permit, no matter how many years being together as long as we do not have PR or Citizenship!!!

That's being employed - even if for only a short period.HongJiang wrote:By saying business, it is that there is a finnish boss who wants to do business with Chinese companies, so he need me to be his personal assistant to help him. I think my case is not like the marriage is the only reason I am here. I completed my Msc Degree here, well during the same time I met my wife. But first I was invited to come here to study, not as an illegal immigrant .
Re: Finnish Citizenship application and divorcing
do not worry, I told the unemployment office and Kela as well. Kela and Unemployment told me, only when I signed an contract with the company, then I am employed fully. The unemployment benifits are very few, even much fewer than my scholarship. I will not cheat that money, if I got a nice job offer.GermanInHelsinki wrote:I hope you are telling the unemployment office about your business trip

Hey what am talking is about , will they cancer my reisidnece permit and put me in the jail or be an illegial immigrant immediately. Of course if I am divorced and unemployed here after the deadline of my current residence permit , then I will go somewhere which needs me, if I do not find a nice job here.GermanInHelsinki wrote:The reason for a residence permit for a spouse of a Finnish citizen is of course to allow the Finnish citizen to live with her spouse.

With a Finnish degree you can of course easily get a residence permit for a job.
A Finnish degree or having had a Finnish wife alone does of course not entitle you to receiving unemployment benefits.
Getting citizenship one year earlier is of course only possible if you still live together with your wife.

They have right but thats for cases where there is clear fraud. I can say no one will probably cancel your permit. I have red "planning of law" what means how you should read it and that cancel of permit is for clear frauds and not like you.
You will have valid permit till 2016 and have time to redo your permit.
You arent here by fraud, i assume your marriage was true, so you can keep your permit and ask next permit.

Thanks, Yes my marriage was true, I even saved my wife's life for two times, my wife gonna prove it to the police, in case if they put me in the jail. We have dated for two years, then married for more than 3 years. Before that I was invited to study here, frist then I knew my wife, nothing is fraud.
Just there is an Iraq guy who is having problems after divorce, so I worry about myself now, since I scarified the good chances to work in other countries, instead I choose to stay with her, because she did not want to move to Spain or China with me. Really do not want to be in the jail or become an illegal person like illegal immigrant, then it is very ridiculous for me.

It was already said but I'll reiterate. Illegal immigrants do not get put to jail in Finland (in general it's very hard to land a jail sentence), instead they get deported. So stop worrying about going to jail. I also concur with other posters that it is unlikely that they will cancel your permit.HongJiang wrote: Thanks, Yes my marriage was true, I even saved my wife's life for two times, my wife gonna prove it to the police, in case if they put me in the jail. Also remember that most things are subject to appeal. Since these things take time, even if Finland jailed illegal immigrants, it would not happen overnight after divorce.
Re: Finnish Citizenship application and divorcing
I understood your history. I just don't think it at all unreasonable that having studied here in itself does not guarantee a PR, while if you get yourself a job, you'll have no problem in getting your permit renewed. That it would be canceled before the original expiry date seems more theoretical than actual possibility.HongJiang wrote: I think my case is not like the marriage is the only reason I am here. Divorce and residence permit
If you have a fixed-term residence permit that has been granted based on family ties, divorce may affect your residence permit. In these situations, it is always considered case-by-case whether the residence permit is continued after the divorce or if it is cancelled. More information is available on the Infopankki web page
case by case, does it mean the police could do whatever they want?
If your marriage or registered partnership ends
If you have a fixed-term residence permit, which has been granted based on family ties (marriage or registered partnership), the continuation and cancellation of the residence permit are always considered separately once the family tie no longer exists. This includes the consideration of whether or not you have strong ties to Finland based on which you could be granted an extended residence permit. Factors that affect the decision:
• How long have you been in Finland?
• Do you have children or other family members in Finland?
• Do you have a job or a business in Finland?
• Are you studying, can you make a living?
• How well have you adjusted to living in Finland?
so how long is long? 100 years? I do not have children or family members. no job or business currently, not studying , currently can not make a living.
About how well I have adjusted to living in Finland, I have Master Degree from Eastern Finland University, also I speak fluent Finnish , I have the YKI testi kielitodistus , about 3 3 4 3.
In Austrialia , it is like if they have been married and living together for more than 2 years, then the previous residence permit could not be cancerceled
I just worry about my current residence permit, I actually do not care about the continunce of my residecne permit. Also I do not want to be marked as an illegal immigrant.

Poliisi voi peruuttaa myöntämänsä luvat, jos hakija
on muuttanut pysyvästi pois Suomesta
it says they can cancel me if my living here is in a showt time and my marriage is over. First my marriage is not over, second, how short is short, how long is long enough, does it mean if a person who does not speak Finnish , so she can not have finnish citizenship, then no matter how many years she is here, she is always in the risk of being cancerled?
I just want to know, exactly how short is short , how long is long for Finnish immgration office or police.
