Disposing of empty printer cartridges

I have about half a dozen used-up laser-printer cartridges like this:

How & where can I get rid of them? I bought them mostly on the internet, maybe one of them came from Verkkokauppa) but last time I took some empty cartridges back to verkkokauppa they looked at me as if I was crazy and I just felt they were gong to throw them in the trash.

If everythong else fails, the local Kierrätyskeskus will happily accept them as ongelmajäte.

It seems like most people must just bin them... or get them refilled maybe.

I guess I'll take them to Ämmässuo with the broken iron and the old Ikea furniture.

Well, to be really strict, the iron (electric equipment) should be taken to recycle (to Kierrätyskeskus), as well as the
printer cartridges which contain chemicals.
Ämmässuo accepts the furniture, though Sortti station may be closer to your home.
That's all. It's up to you now what you do.

I think Ämmässuo sorts absolutely everything from printer cartridges, to irons, broken furniture, grass clippings, old fridges, tins of paint: you name it, they dispose of it. One-stop dumping. At least they have never sent me away with anything. Sometimes you have to drive to a different zone eg when we knocked down a wall we had to take the rubble about half a mile down the road from the usual dumping station, but it was still Ämmässuo.

Nope.
Ämmässuo does not sort things out, it's a dumping place.
An electric instrument contains copper, silver, PC etc and they should be recycled. I am involved in Kierrätyskeskus and
I know what I am talking about.
It's up to you to do whatever you want to do, anyway.

They just dump everything (sekäjäte). By the way they will close the site this autumn according to the plan.

I dropped in to the kierrytuskeskus in Kutojantie, Kilo today and they confirmed they can take problem waste like printer cartridges so I will take my load of stuff there next week.

BTW, the place was pretty busy but it looked very well organised and there are plenty of (friendly) people to answer questions and help out. We were looking for a washing machine but apparently they are at the Kulosaari depot so I'll have to make a trip there next week too on the off-chance I can pick up a decent second-hand top loader. masao, are there any kinds of guarantees on electrical equipment like washing machines? Or do you think it's better to get a new one?

So does that mean that anyone selling an electrical appliance eg on huuto.net must give the documentation (manual etc) with the goods?
I always keep mine, at least the Finnish and the English versions, I chucked out the Hungarian/Polish/Czech user manual for my oven. Fortunately you can find most of them online nowadays.

I am involved with Kyläsaari blanch of Kierrätyskeskus Oy from Monday to Wednesday and can give you more details. To all the electric devices and bicycles we sell we give one month warranty.
They are user-returns and are tested by ourselves. However they are not new machines, so there may be a hidden problem which cannot be uncovered by our tests.
Thus one month warranty. I have seen a few people returning what they have bought, and we accept the returns in open arms.
At Kyläsaari we also have washing machines, stereos and TVs, digi boxes and fridges.
If you like a top loader, I will be able to check and let you know in advance so that you do not have to drive to Kyläsaari for nothing. Drop me a line if you want me to keep an eye on that. The fact is that the top loader is not common there and the cost is around 100+ euros when we have one.
By the way we have free furniture like chairs and mattresses in Helsinki branch if anyone's interested. We think that they are not resalable but they are too good to
be dumped.

It doesn't matter if it is person selling in huuto.net or Gigantti, safety rules are the same. Manual is part of safety. And I'd be surprised if even half of electrical stuff had their manuals when sold in huuto or flea market.
