Re: where to find plasma tv in Turku
I wonder why would one want to have a 20 year old technology in one's home ? Anyways , giganti is the only place where I have recently seen plasmas
What do you want from me?????

Supposedly, the image quality (black level, brightness uniformity, contrast, colour range) of a good plasma TV is superior to that of even the best LCD LED TVs.
Re: where to find plasma tv in Turku
Because in TV use as long as image quality is concerned plasma offers much better bang for buck. Plasma really has two shortcomings, image burning and power consumption. The latter has been brought down and the former is not much of an issue in TV use, well perhaps channel logos might get burned into screen. That said at least Panasonic plasmas have a feature for restoring burnt screens.foca wrote:I wonder why would one want to have a 20 year old technology in one's home ?

The balance of black in current led tv's is better than in any plasma

Re: where to find plasma tv in Turku
I've had several plasma displays and this is true although they are not as bright as an LCD TV. Panasonic and now Samsung have discontinued plasma though, so there is not much of a choice of models left. OLED offers some of the same attributes as plasma (and is brighter) but there are not many OLED models on sale yet.Ligence wrote:Supposedly, the image quality (black level, brightness uniformity, contrast, colour range) of a good plasma TV is superior to that of even the best LCD LED TVs.
Nothing will restore a really burnt in image and you must forever be careful not to freeze images for a long time. I found that the first 10 minutes after turning it on were particularly troublesome (eg turn it on and view the menu of a digibox) but the burnt image soon faded away. But really burnt in images (or memories of the vertical bars from watching 4:3 footage) will never go away despite the menu options that panasonic include to reduce the chance of burn in.That said at least Panasonic plasmas have a feature for restoring burnt screens.

huuto.net, findit.fi, and tori.fi
Every case is unique. You can't measure the result of your application based on arbitrary anecdotes online.
