Moving to Finland before getting permit?

Hi

Hoping anyone can help..

I am wondering if it is possible to enter Finland as a tourist while I wait for my permit to process. My boyfriend is going back on August 1st and I would like to go at the same time though it looks like i won't receive a decision until mid September. Since the permit would be arriving to my address in Canada, I could have my family express post the card to me. If for whatever reason I don't receive a decision, or it is denied i will go back before the 90 day tourist limit is up. I will not work during this time.

if you applied for RP in your own country, you will have to return to your own country or realistically leave schengen territory to get your rp.
I looked for the direct statement in migri.fi , but its a link farm.There are reasons why you could stay and wait but it depends on your exact circumstances.
If your not allowed to stay and wait after entering finland , remember the schengen territory borders and neighboring countries that you may "sit in" whie waiting for your permit or the 3 month clock.
