Well I am here based on Family ties so to speak.
Married to a finnish man. My first permit expired. Well we haven't had the money, because we moved from espoo to helsinki and had to transfer things. Needless to say this was all bad timing because it was done over the time my permit expires. i paniced because I did not realize it had expired. Now I am thinking they may deny it just because of that.
I haven't studied or worked this year and part of the reason is the first 4 months I came here we didn't know how to do things, we are young and kind of dumb and my husband had everything pretty much handed to him before.
Then we moved to a place so we could be out of his brothers place, it was big and we took it, just to take it, finally we got a bigger place and all that jazz.I was planning on taking finnish class...still have not done that and want to seek work. I only have highschool degree. oops. I should study but i am unsure if I want to.
My big question is my permit expired on 23rd this month, you think they can deny it?
I need advice on renewing my residense permit

1- So you're now an illegal alien. My big question is my permit expired on 23rd this month, you think they can deny it?
2- You cannot extend your RP because it is already expired.
3- You have to apply for a new RP (which can take a long time)
4- Decision will be based on the present situation, not on a stupid mistake you made.
Re: I need advice on renewing my residense permit
5. The new permit will be only one year permit instead four years that you would have got if you had applied in time
6. Payment of your (likely) KELA benefits at leas should have ceased when you let your permit expired. So did your health insurance here.
7. At least go an apply for the new permit TODAY.

We (Well "I", but I think I am not the only one) pray that this is only a temporary condition.we are young and kind of dumb and my husband had everything pretty much handed to him before.
You've been doing one year of this? You indicate that he has not been lavishly supplied by his rich parents - I kind a thought that KELA would push people young a bit more?I was planning on taking finnish class...still have not done that and want to seek work. Kela not really, since they really only push paper. The municipality social offices or TE-palvelut could do some pushing if you are using their services.Rip wrote:You've been doing one year of this? For future reference if you have no income and means to pay such things, you should go to social services of your municipality. They will help you apply for benefits and if your situation calls for it, cover such payments as permit renewals:Thatrandomgirl wrote: Married to a finnish man. My first permit expired.
