Hi,
I work for an Indian multi-national IT consulting company and was deputed in Finland for more than 2 years (now in India for past few months). I have Finnish A type work permit valid for more than 6 months more. If I join Finnish IT company in Finland for full time job.
1. Do I need to apply for residence permit again ?
2. I have Finnish SSN and Kela card on my name, will that still be valid if in case I have to apply for new residence permit?
3. Will Indian company cancel my current residence permit if I leave them?
Please help me with above questions.
Do I need to apply for work permit again?
Re: Do I need to apply for work permit again?
Depends what your RP says. But certainly an Indian company can't cancel anything issued by Finnish government.

1. Obviously in good time before your previous one runs out, with all the papers from the new employer. And you apply for a "renewal" not a new one...
2. The KELA card in principle when you move out they want back, but otherwise you is you now.
3. The Indian company is not related to your RP, its yours. The restriction may be you need to find a job in I.T. - not say as a cook, but those restrictions read on there. ( I don't think they issue company-tied rp's no more?)

The personal identity code is for life so it is still valid. As for the Kela card it depends on how you have done your paper work [1]. You are required to notify Maistraatti whenever you move for more than three months [2]. From your questions I will take a guess that you have not done this and the Kela coverage continues to be valid (it would also be if you ticked the boxes for temporary move back to India). You can see your status in their web service.epselon1 wrote: 2. I have Finnish SSN and Kela card on my name, will that still be valid if in case I have to apply for new residence permit?

I should add that you also must notify them whenever your current address stops to be valid. So if you didn't keep your place in Finland, you were required to notify them.betelgeuse wrote:You are required to notify Maistraatti whenever you move for more than three months [2].
