I got a couple bowls for sale (used) and they said made in the republic of china. I tried to contact Ikea but that was pretty useless. They have the food and drink sign on the bottom (one does at least and they have the same model number) but I have no idea.
Anyone know if they had lead issues?
Thanks!

There are standards they should match to be sold here. Sometimes violations are found only after the stuff has been sold here, and sometimes they are not found. I'd be incline to think the fact the IKEA has so large volumes to be a benefit here. Assuming the dishes don't predate the internet age and you can't find a Google match for product recall I'd think they are safe.

In case it should matter:ilikepeanutbutter wrote:I got a couple bowls for sale (used) and they said made in the republic of china.
“Republic of China” (R.O.C.) = Taiwan
“People’s Republic of China” (P.R.C.) = China

Since IKEA gave it the food and drink signs, they should be safe for eating and drinking use.

However, unlike many Arabia products which are lead-free and which can be used in micro-oven, those IKEA ones cannot be used in the oven because of lead
contents. We have such ones in use and a piece of ceramic comes off after micro-oven use (they seem brittle).

Thanks! We ended up pitching them just to be on the safe side.
