Posting to UK (precious goods).

Post by Londonchris » Thu Jul 31, 2014 4:36 pm

Apparently precious metals/gemstones ect are prohibited...however conflicting advice being given.

All the links given by post.fi are for royal mail which has no restrictions (as far as i can tell).
However posti site claims UK has a restriction order on them despite having info on sending such stuff insured..which they claim they can`t do.

Just had an email from posti saying they don`t do insured letters, however page 18 of their pdf tariff states otherwise.

Bit confused & need someone to help here :?

I worked for Itella and possibly even knew the person who replied to you. They do insured letters. At least they use to. I left in February 2014.

I was going to have certain stuff sent insured back to Australia, but I didn't.

Your best bet is to go into a Post Office and ask there. It's possible the person you spoke to didn't understand correctly.
